Athletes will spend over 3,500 hours a year trying to attain the mental and physical rewards from this natural recovery process. Sleeping accounts for up to 40% of any rest and recovery program but comes under and ever increasing pressure from new, more expansive training regimes, the global commercial side of 21st century sport and our personal 24/7 lifestyles.
