The softer mould density provisco-elastic foam core is made from the latest pressure sensitive provisco-elastic (PVE), a thermo-sensitive material originally developed from within the space program to create an even distribution of the astronaut's body weight whilst experiencing extreme pressure when subjected to multi-G forces.  Unlike many other more expensive materials PVE does equal performance and durability. It will last many times longer than any normal materials, because it loves pressure and always returns to the formed shape. A key additional feature, to absorb the loss of natural body fluids and protect the PVE core and its hypoallergenic qualities, is a zipped removable, knitted, soft touch cover which can be washed and aired on a regular basis and replaced. When correctly balanced in a natural foetal sleeping position (curled up on your favoured side) should only require a shallow filled pillow to provide a degree of head comfort. Ideally you should have display and support pillows for the bed and a sleeping pillow for sleeping. Many sleepers have one style of pillow for all functions and end up playing with them all night as every position they adopt only provides a short spell of comfort before they have to move again. Note: We all have a natural shoulder bridge dimension (a relaxed measure from your ear to outside arm when arms are folded) your sleeping surface should take most if not all of this up as it moulds to shape leaving only a small gap for a shallow pillow.

Coach: For extra protection and personal comfort use a standard sized, high quality snow white cotton or ideally nanotech microfiber pillow case. Try one, not only at home, but when you travel to ensure you have some control over the many different sleeping environments and products encountered. It is also a small in-expensive addition to the physio kit bag that could provide that extra confidence or even solve or prevent a problem occurring when in recovery, never mind that all important edge.
